Lila Gown in Midnight Blue

Our original bestselling Lila gown is designed with actual labor in mind. Created by a Labor and Delivery Nurse and Doula, these gowns are intended to provide accessibility to your medical team, while still being stylish and comfortable for you.

Some features of this gown include:

High-quality, butter smooth, stretch material - Did you know, for some women, sensations are experienced differently in labor? A texture that may feel fine normally can become irritating and distracting during labor. The material used for this gown has been hand selected to be soft enough to keep you comfortable throughout.

Low back - perfect to provide accessibility for epidural placement and/or massage.

Opens at the belly - Most gowns for use during labor, like the typical hospital gown won't open in front at all, meaning the cords from your fetal monitors will hang down in front of your legs which can be annoying and distracting. Our labor gowns open down the middle of your belly so you can string the cords up with your portable monitoring system and keep them out of the way and out from under your feet.

Two inside ties and full coverage - One of the most common complaints women have post-childbirth is that they felt they were not afforded privacy during labor. Other labor gowns are skimpy and revealing, and hospital gowns tend to open completely down the back with no way to keep them fully closed. Our gowns are made with 3/4 sleeves, and two inside ties to keep your gown closed without sacrificing accessibility.

Opens at the chest - The front of this gown opens completely at the chest for skin to skin immediately after birth, and because sometimes that happens quickly or unexpectedly there are no knots to untie or changes of position required to give complete and immediate access to your chest for skin to skin and breastfeeding.

Matching Baby Swaddle Set - How can you miss the opportunity to match with your baby? Our Lila gown can be ordered solo or as a set. Simply add a matching Baby Swaddle Set to your cart and use code BUNDLE50 at checkout to get the matching Baby Swaddle Set for 50% off!

Recovery

Loved using this to recover. A nurse complimented our matching gowns. Would buy again in the future. Also love the deep blue colour.

It’s Nice

The gown is lovely, very soft and looks beautiful!

This may just be a “me” thing but I’d love for there to be a bit more space between the snaps under the bust and the shoulder seam. The gown fits perfectly everywhere else, but the strap across the neck feels like a halter top. It’s not uncomfortable but it’s noticeable. I think if I were to size up it would be too big.

It’s okay: 50/50

Im still up in the air whether I think it was worth it or not. I haven’t given birth yet so I definitely wanted to wait and see how I feel after.
But currently I’m not super I love with it.
I’m 5”9 and in my 8th month of pregnancy at 180 lbs. I find that the material is super soft but wrinkles like crazy. It would have been nice to have a material that doesn’t since I plan on keeping it in my hospital bag and not hanging up in a closet. I find the snaps that are made out of plastic a little cheap and they weren’t sewn on super great. So I’m worried one will fall off while I’m trying to breast feed.
And the worst thing for me is how the shoulders fit and the neck tie. I find it sits weird and that the neck tie should have been a little further back to give the fabric more support. It really bothers me the way it sits and always seems to come off the shoulder. (I’ve tightened it properly) to be honest it makes me super uncomfortable where it sits and I think it’s going to bother me in the hospital.
I have a friend who is has her own sewing business so I’m going to get her to make adjustments so it fits more comfortably for when I go into labour.

That being said I love the concept! When I gave birth the first time I lived in my hospital gowned for like 3 days it got old fast but I was healing and it was better than getting dressed in the clothes I brought. I’m thinking I won’t be in the hospital that long after this next baby but I wanted to invest in something that would be more comfortable and that I could wear in the recovery time (when I get home as wash it) as well as the delivery. I love that it has an opening for the epidural and easy access for the monitors.

Fingers crossed I’ll enjoy wearing for labour and it wasn’t a waste of money.

Wow 🤩

I just had my first baby. I labored at home not knowing I was really in labor. I progressed very quickly and didn’t have time to make it to the birth center. I threw my labor gown on and went to the hospital closest to me. I got so many compliments on it and the staff was surprised that I showed up dressed for the occasion. lol. They appreciated how functional it was for them to do their job. I felt so cute and comfortable during this chaotic moment. 10/10 would recommend.
